從灰燼中站起 from Lisa 10/23/2017

Finally we are allowed to go back to our home (Saturday 21, 2017, 12 days after the fire). I was expect to be very sad, but for some reason I have no tear at all. It is more like numbness. Seeing and talking to some of my neighbors was so good for me, their determination to rebuild definitely help me and my family to face this challenge.

Richard loves Lego. By the time he was 8th grade, Lego was still his birthday gift request. That time, we thought he might be too old for Lego, we suggest him to think something else. He decided to have a basketball set. He installed almost every single piece of this set. And have enjoyed many happy hours by himself and with his friends with this set.
Enjoy his Lego.
This is the left over of our grand piano. Both my kids have spent many hours with it specially Catherine Liang. Playing piano is Catherine’s way to express her feeling (joy or sad). Her piano music is our family’s entertainment. Each time when she has learned a new piece, we all seat at our stairs and be her first audience. She bows and we clap, then the music starts.
Catherine Liang prepares her piece.
